Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This policy explains what the MemoBlok mobile app and this website do with your information. It is written by MEMOBLOK, LLC (“we”, “us”), a California limited liability company, which is the data controller for the processing described here.

The short version. Everything you log is stored on your phone. With no account, nothing you enter leaves your device. An account is optional and exists only so your data can be backed up and synced. We run no analytics and no advertising, and we do not sell your data.

1. Using the app without an account

MemoBlok is fully usable signed out. In that state everything you enter is stored on your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, and we have no way to recover it if you lose or reset the device.

2. If you create an account

An account is optional. Creating one enables backup and syncing between your devices. Nothing is uploaded before you sign in.

Once you are signed in, we store:

  • the things you have chosen to track and their settings;
  • the entries you log — their values and dates, along with any note or labels you add;
  • a location for an entry, if you choose to record one (see section 3); and
  • an account identifier and your email address.

We use third-party service providers to host our systems and to run backup and sync. They process this data only on our instructions and under written agreements, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

3. Location

Recording where an entry happened is optional. The app asks for location permission the first time you use the feature, and only ever requests “while using the app” access — MemoBlok does not collect location in the background or when it is closed.

When you log an entry with location, the app takes a single position reading at that moment and stores it with that entry so you can see where it happened. Location is attached only to entries you choose to log with it. If you deny or revoke the permission, everything else in the app continues to work.

4. What we do not collect

  • No analytics. The app contains no third-party analytics or attribution software. We do not collect usage events, screen views, device fingerprints or crash telemetry.
  • No advertising. There is no advertising software, no ad identifier, and no tracking across apps or websites.
  • No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • No contacts, photos, microphone or health-app data. The app does not request these permissions.

5. This website

www.memoblok.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and makes no requests to any third-party server — every font, image, stylesheet and script is served from this domain. Our web host processes standard server request logs, including IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

6. Why we process your data, and on what basis

If you are in the UK, EEA or Switzerland, our lawful bases under the UK GDPR and GDPR are: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for operating your account and syncing the data you asked us to back up; consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for attaching location to an entry, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings; and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for keeping the service secure and responding to your support email.

Your data may be processed in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) in our agreements with our providers.

7. How long we keep it

Data associated with an account is kept for as long as that account exists. When you delete your account, it and everything stored with it are deleted from our systems within 30 days, apart from anything we are legally required to retain. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle. Data held only on your device is removed when you delete the app.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, or port it elsewhere. If you are a California resident, you also have the rights to know, delete, correct and opt out under the CCPA/CPRA — and, as stated above, we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Write to ayen@memoblok.com from the email address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. To delete your account, see Delete your data. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

9. Children

MemoBlok is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and older where your country sets a higher age of digital consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age; if we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child has given us data, write to ayen@memoblok.com.

10. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS, and data stored on our systems is encrypted at rest. Access controls mean an account can only read and write its own data. On your device, your data is protected by the operating system's app sandbox and device encryption. No system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
